dkstudio was executive architect for Gucci's Toronto flagship store at 130 Bloor Street West in Toronto, Ontario. The store opened in October 2020, and offers large selection of luxury goods for men and women.
This 7800 square foot store was built in over 3 phases; allowing completed portions of the store to operate and expand as each succeeding phases came to completion. Interior hoardings within the store were designed identically to the interior millwork; allowing separation between the construction site and the sales area, without compromising the atmosphere of a luxury retail outlet in operating parts of the store.
The Toronto flagship store incorporate both traditional and modern elements; expressing Gucci's spirit of contemporary luxury and eclecticism. The façade features a marble clad storefront. Boiserie walls and ceiling, along with herringbone wood and marble 'carpet' floors, adorn the interior.
